Instructional Media Services maintains a permanent media collection of over 10,000 titles, housed at the Des Plaines campus, as well as videotapes for 30-40 Media Based Courses at each campus.

All titles are accessible through hardcopy catalogs available in IMS offices as well as Online. Featured titles support current college activities -- check out Of Special Interest.

While IMS maintains its collection of items directly related to the curricular needs of the college, the library on the Des Plaines Campus houses a collection of entertainment videos.

Titles are available for use in classes and for special events. All titles may be reserved for viewing at either IMS office by students, faculty, staff, administrators and district residents. Faculty and staff may check out titles for limited off campus use and preview, depending on format, licensing agreements, need and availability. All materials are available for Oakton-related use only.

When they are doing presentations, students may request titles to be delivered to their classes along with the required equipment.

Please place requests for all materials at least 48 business hours in advance of use.

Additional titles for curricular needs, not in our permanent collection, may be available for rental or preview for possible purchase. IMS personnel can assist you in locating suitable titles.
