How to Meet The Requirement for Geometry
| If your score on the geometry section of the COMPASS Math Assessment
Test is 51 or above, you have met the geometry requirement.
If your score is 50 or below and you are planning to enroll
in MAT 120 or above, you must meet the geometry prerequisite in
one of the following ways:
- Present a high school transcript showing one year of geometry
with a "C" average to the Math
Assessment Coordinator.
- Present a college transcript showing the equivalent of MAT
053, Elementary Plane Geometry, with a grade of "pass" ("C" or better) to the Math
Assessment Coordinator.
- Complete MAT 053, Elementary Plane Geometry, with a grade
of "pass."
- Re-take the geometry segment of the Oakton Math Assessment
Test after completing one of the following:

Attend an Oakton non-credit geometry review
workshop. Students who attend will have permission to
re-test. For more information, check out workshop
schedule, or contact the Learning Center in Room 2400

Study geometry independently
on-line1, on-line
2 and obtain approval to re-test from the Math
Assessment Coordinator.
