TUTORING:
  • Drop in without appointment for open tutoring.
  • Make an individual appointment with one of our tutors.
  • Form a study group to meet at scheduled times.
  • Submit a question online.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE:
  • Reinforce and practice what you learned in class.
  • Use CourseCompass online. Have your Course Compass access code and OCC Course ID ready. Go to http://students.pearsoned.com.
  • Use the software available in the Learning Center lab, the OCC network or on Internet.
STUDY SKILLS/MATH ANXIETY: ASSIST PROGRAM:
  • Make an appointment with the ASSIST Coordinator to obtain special accommodations for documented physical or learning disabilities.
VIDEOTAPES:
  • Check out videotape at Instructional Media Services at either the Des Plaines or Ray Hartstein Campus. These tapes review course materials taught in class.
CALCULATOR:
  • Rent a TI-83+ calculator for a semester for $48.50 and get $35 back when it is returned by the due date. Calculator is available on a first come first serve basis. Come to Room 2400 DP or A135 RHC for more information or to rent one.
TEST PREPARATION: MyMathLab by CourseCompass:
  • Do math homework and practice quizzes, watch video lectures, and use interactive tutorials online through MyMathLab by CourseCompass. Students whose instructor is incorporating MyMathLab into the course should obtain their Course ID from their instructor. Students whose instructor will not be incorporating MyMathLab can access a generic Oakton version of MyMathLab. All students seeking to create a MyMathLab account must have the CourseCompass access code shrink-wrapped with the textbook and Course ID before setting up an account.
PAUL LeGERE MATHEMATICS TEXTBOOK FUND:
  • Contact the office of Student Financial Assistance in person (Room 1250 DP, Room A102 RHC) about a short-term loan available to students who need help purchasing a mathematics textbook or calculator.
