Lab Access

All enrolled Oakton students, faculty, staff, and Alliance for Lifelong Learning students registered for classes that require computer use, are encouraged to use Oakton's computer labs. To help maintain a productive environmnent, we ask that children only be brought into child-permitted lab areas.

Student network accounts include access to most all the software programs available on the network.

The purpose of the Oakton Community College computer labs is to provide a vocational and technical environment that willl guide, develop, and encourage students toward their educational goals.

Academic work always has priority over other uses.

At times of high usage, the following priority list may be implemented:

Oakton students registered in classes that require use of a computer
Oakton students registered in classes where computer programs are supplemental to instruction
Any Oakton student, staff or faculty member

Instructions for logging in to the network and using email are available in the labs.

All people using the computer labs must abide by the lab guidelines; all users of any computing resources must follow our Technology Use Policy.
