Netscape Messenger
Getting Started
Find the Netscape icon on the Windows desktop (the computer screen). Remember that Communicator is a collection of programs working together. Programs include Navigator (Netscape's web browser), Messenger (the mail program), and others.
Double left click on it. The program will begin to launch.

NOTE: If, after clicking on the icon, nothing appears to be happening, give it the better part of a minute before trying again. For more information, see the FAQ.

The default startup setting when launching Communicator is for it to first open to Navigator (Netscape's web browser).

Once the Navigator window appears, you'll need to open Messenger. There are a number of ways to do this.
1) You can click on the Communicator menu along the top of the window and select "Messenger" from the drop list.

2) You can click on the "Inbox" icon. This icon can be located in either of two places, depending on your default settings. You'll find the icon either running along the lower right corner of the Netscape window or on a floating toolbar (usually off to the right of the Netscape window).

After clicking on Inbox or selecting Messenger from the Communicator menu, the following screen should appear:

Click once in the command line and type your password.  This is the same password you used to log in to the network when you started your computer. The password will appear as asterisks as you type. Left-click on OK. The password screen should disappear, leaving the main Messenger screen.

To continue, click on Reading Mail on the menu.
