Bowker's Publisher Authority Database is the companion database to Books in Print, use Oakton 14-digit library card number.
Citation guides: brief versions of APA, MLA, Turabian, University of Chicago and more detailed versions of APA and MLA.
Encyclopaedia Britannica Online includes Encyclopaedia Britannica and selected Web sites.
Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia
Health Source - Consumer Edition includes Stedman’s Medical Dictionary with terminology for genetics, oncology, pediatrics, pulmonology, emergency medicine, bacteriology, and laboratory medicine as well as Clinical Pharmacology, which provides drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs.
Internet Public Library Reference Center offers several reference volumes and library research assistance. If you want to ask a question, please use Oakton's email reference service. The Internet Public Library is hosted by the School of Information at the University of Michigan.
Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary On the Encyclopaedia Britannica Online home page, choose Merriam-Webster.
Mosby's Drug Consult includes prescription information, drug interactions, and information for patients. Access is limited to Oakton on-campus computers; maximum 10 simultaneous users.
Occupational Outlook Handbook. is a source of career information published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Sanborn Illinois Fire Insurance Maps include maps of most Illinois communities from 1867 to 1970; for off-campus access, obtain login and password from reference librarian at 847-635-1644 or 847-635-1474.
Statistical Abstract of the United States is a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States compiled by the U.S. government.
Infobel: Telephone Directories on the Web is the Internet's original and most complete index of online phone books, with links to Yellow Pages, White Pages, Business Directories, Email Addresses and Fax Listings from countries around the world.
Ulrich's Periodicals Directory is an international directory of periodical titles; one Oakton user at a time only; off-campus use requires Oakton 14-digit library card number.
