Services for District Residents and Other Non-student Users/
Library Cards/Checking Out Books/Overdue Books

 

  • District residents include: Adults living in the Oakton district, employees working for a company in the Oakton district, ALL students, students attending a high school in the Oakton district.
    • Those working in district must provide confirmation of in-district employment on company letterhead, signed by their supervisor.
    • ALL students not living in district must provide a tuition receipt.
  • To borrow books or videos, apply for a Special User ID at the Circulation Desk.  You will need a current valid Illinois driver's license or current valid Illinois state ID card.  There is no charge for your Special User ID.
  • Checkout period is three weeks. Renew in person or over the phone.
  • You may borrow a total of three items.
  • There is a thirty-day grace period for overdue books. After that, the charge is $5.00 per item.
  • Lost book charge is cost of the book plus $10 processing fee and overdue fine if over 30 days..
