HOW TO CREATE AND SAVE BOOKMARKS

    To bookmark a web site
  1. Next to Location is Bookmarks, click on Bookmarks.
  2. Click on Add Bookmark.

If you are using your own computer the bookmarks will be saved to your hard drive. If you are using a lab computer you will need to save the bookmarks on a diskette because lab computers do not save bookmarks after you exit.

    To save to a diskette
  1. Add bookmarks just as described above, but before you exit save bookmarks to a diskette in a: drive.
  2. Put a formatted diskette into the a: drive.
  3. Click on Bookmarks (just to the right of Location).
  4. Click on Edit Bookmarks....
  5. Is the top item highlighted? If not click on the very first item on the list, so it is highlighted.
  6. On tool the bar in the Bookmarks box, click on File.
  7. Click on Save As....
  8. A box will open. In Drives, click on a.
  9. In File Name type in the name you want to call your bookmark file (cannot be more then 8 characters), followed by .htm.
  10. Finally click on OK.
    To retrieve your bookmarks from a diskette
  1. Put in your diskette into the a drive.
  2. Next to Location is Bookmarks, click on Bookmarks.
  3. Click on Edit Bookmarks....
  4. On tool the bar in the Bookmarks box click on File.
  5. Click on Open Bookmarks File.
  6. In the Open bookmarks file box that appears, in Drives click on a:
  7. In File Name click on the name of your bookmark file (the name of the file is followed by .htm).
  8. Click on OK.
  9. What will appear on your screen is your bookmarks. Click on them the same way you would any hotlink.
