Transfer Advising
Transfer advising is available in the Advising and Counseling Centers on both
campuses to ease the process of transferring to other colleges and universities. Oakton
Community College also participates in articulation agreements, such as
IAI, 2 + 2, dual admissions, and individual course articulation agreements that specify how Oakton's courses
will transfer to other institutions. Advisors assist students in selecting appropriate
courses to assure the transfer of Oakton credit.
Transfer Resources
A wealth of general and major-specific transfer information is available in the Advising
and Counseling Centers. These materials include transfer guides that list general
education requirements, computer-based resources (on campus), college catalogs, videos,
and reference books. Students who utilize this transfer information throughout their time
at Oakton simplify their lives by following transfer recommendations from the four-year
college and university of their choice. Additionally, College Representatives
from schools in Illinois and neighboring states regularly
schedule campus visits. The schedule is available in the Advising
and Counseling Centers and in the online Events Calendar.
