Welcome
to my Home Page.
Hi-
I'm Doris Gronseth and I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself.
Prior to coming to Oakton, I worked
in finance for many years, in a management capacity and with a wide
range of financial departments. In 1995, I made a decision to change
my career path and I left my corporate position and accepted a position
at Oakton as an adjunct faculty member in the CTIS department. After
being an adjunct faculty member for two years, I accepted a full
time position in 1997 and have loved every minute of it!
In 2004, I was assigned the responsibilities
of program coordinator to the Computer Application Software and
Computer Office Technology programs. The program merged in 2006
under the new title of Computer Applications for Business (CAB). Lastly, as of this fall I became the CTIS Department Chair.
Amongst all my many administrative duties my first love is teaching!
Some of the classes that I teach
are: excel spreadsheeting, business math, introduction to business, information systems for
business, and managing information systems. I am also the co-advisor to a student club called, Association of Information Technology
Professionals (AITP). This is an excellent organization that allows
IT students to people-network within their profession as well as
to learn more about IT and IT possibilities.
My eduction consists of:
B.A. - Lewis University
M.B.A. - Lewis University
M.A. from Webster University in Business & Organizational
Security Management
If there are any questions I can help
you with, please do not hesitate to contact me!
