Philosophy 205: World Religions

Native American Plains tribes, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism will be featured in this course. Emphasis is placed on the world view of each, along with historical development and modern issues, such as the role of women. Current news stories are brought into context, highlighting the significance of religion to individuals, cultures and political systems.


Philosophy 245: Foundational Religious Text ~ Judaism

This new and exciting Great Books course will feature essential readings from the texts that have not only shaped Judaism but which have profoundly influenced the thinking of the Western World. Expand your mind with excerpts from the Torah, Prophetic Writings, Talmud, Zohar and other works of Kabbalah, Traditional Tales and Legends, Philosophers and Literature. The class will center on interpretation of the works through discussion and written response.
