Mrs. Singh began her academic career as an undergraduate at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she completed her degrees in Journalism and Philosophy. She has since worked in television as a writer and producer and received an Emmy Nomination for her weekly series Educate! which aired locally on WYCC-TV Chicago. She continues to work as an independent producer. One of her current projects includes a documentary on India.

While she is committed to her pursuits in television production she remains an avid humanist. Her initial interests in philosophy later manifested in her continued desire to pursue her Masters degrees from the University of Chicago. She holds a Masters in Liberal Arts and a Masters in Divinity with a concentration in the history of religions.

In the midst of her academic pursuits she has also found it important to spend time doing human development work in Punjab, one of India’s northern most states. She spent two years living and working in the region helping in the area of children’s education, medical camps and media workshops.

She is an avid writer and reader. She is currently writing a collection of short essays based on her experiences in Punjab.
