Marian
Staats holds a B.A. in Psychology from Swarthmore College. After
graduating from Swarthmore, she spent several years working as a
research assistant in clinical psychology at Northwestern University.
She then attended graduate school in English Literature at Loyola
University Chicago, where she finished her Ph.D., a study of sexual
outlaws in 20th-century American literature and film, in 2000.
In
addition to Women and Creativity (HUM 142), she enjoys teaching
courses in fiction, drama, gender studies, and composition.
