WelcomeFor more than 30 years I have been an active participant in the Chicago international trade community, serving as an international business and marketing specialist and adjunct faculty at several Chicago-area colleges. I am also an entrepreneur, business writer, textbook reviewer/editor and frequent lecturer. I find particular interest and satisfaction in conducting cross-cultural business training seminars, which I have done for Japanese, Chinese and Russian clients. My focus is helping American firms access foreign markets, or assisting international firms and organizations seeking business in the United States. I founded and still serve as president of The International Marketing Center, Ltd ., a private firm offering both domestic and international consulting services to corporations, associations, government agencies and individual entrepreneurs. I have represented or provided training for such major clients as: Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Dai-Ichi Kangyo and Sanyo banks, Merseyside County (England) Economic Development Organization, Banque Nationale de Paris, Petersen Manufacturing Co., Inc., The China Exhibition Corp., The Trade, Technology and Transfer Corporation (Russia), PHH Fantus Corp., Mardel Laboratories, Inc., Nippon Express Co., The KAIZEN Institute of America, Val-Test Distributors and Komatsu-Dresser Co. By appointment of the United States Secretary of Commerce, I am currently serving a twelfth consecutive term on the Illinois District Export Council. I am a past-president of the Northwest (Chicago) International Trade Club and previously served as an officer and director of the International Business Council Mid-America and the Japan America Society of Chicago. I have been a corporate or association keynote speaker and authored numerous articles on various aspects of marketing and international trade. I was a guest expert on both the internationally televised Oprah Winfrey Show and the Jonathan Brandmeier radio program in Chicago. I established and was the lead instructor for the "American Business Training Program," specially designed for missions of visiting Russian and Chinese business executives. The course, attended by over 1,500 international executives, features the "basics" of American business, including business law, marketing, our wholesale/retail systems and disciplines of management, finance, communications and human resources. I am convinced that study, preparation and hard work can take the “mystery” out of international business—especially export and import trade. Personal Links
