There are many reasons why Peachtree is superior to QuickBooks. This is a list compiled by Peachtree Customer Service that may assist you in making the comparison. I hope this information helps.
1 |
Peachtree is GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) compliant whereas QuickBooks is not. With QuickBooks, a customer may delete a transaction in a closed fiscal year. Peachtree requires them to make an adjusting journal entry to account for any changes. This means that a customer will be safe if they are ever audited. |
2 |
Peachtree is true double entry accounting. Peachtree enters information in a debit/credit format behind the scenes. With QuickBooks single entry plan, a customer can have their accounting out of balance and not even realize it! This also means that Peachtree is TRUE accounting and QuickBooks is Just bookkeeping. |
3 |
Peachtree allows customers to manually update their payroll withholding tax formulas and calculate payroll. QuickBooks requires their customers to subscribe to their payroll tax service or they cannot process payroll. The program will lock them out if they do not subscribe. |
4 |
It is suggested that Peachtree customers upgrade every three years. QuickBooks requires their customers to upgrade every 2 years. This saves our customers money! |
5 |
Peachtree offers technical support from within our corporate office here in Norcross. QuickBooks has recently moved their support overseas. Some customers have reported difficulty in speaking to representatives that are not familiar with the American way of doing business. |
6 |
The Peachtree Premium Accounting for Manufacturers and Distributors offers an editable Bill of Materials and QuickBooks for Manufacturing does not. This means that customers who typically assemble the same or similar products or kits, can make changes without having to re-enter the entire B.O.M. for each new product/kit. This saves the customers time and money! |
7 |
Peachtree Complete and Premium versions offers an audit trail. This allows customers to better manage their business. They can see who made each transaction and when. This is an additional security feature for businesses. |
8 |
Peachtree offers a conversion from QuickBooks to Peachtree. If a customer were to switch from Peachtree to QuickBooks, they would have to manually enter all information or export to Excel and then go into another QuickBooks format. There is limited information, which can be exported to Excel from Peachtree for the importation process. |
9 |
Peachtree allows you to email forms and reports without the utilization of a third party application. With QuickBooks, you must login to their network. Once the QuickBooks product is no longer supported, the email function is disconnected in order to force an upgrade. |
10 |
Peachtree does not limit the number of customers or transactions that a business can have**. QuickBooks has a limit of 12,500 customers in their regular products and 25,000 in the Enterprise edition. **Peachtree does limit the total data base file size to no more than 200MB of information. |
11 |
Peachtree has a Bill of Materials in its inventory module and allows for better creation and tracking of assemblies. |
