Welcome…
to my Oakton home page. A full-time professor of English at Oakton for
ten years, I teach EGL 102, Women and Literature, GLBT Literature, and
African-American Literature, as well as humanities courses in Women and
Creativity, Intro to Women’s and Gender Studies, and Contemporary
Culture and the Arts. My Ph.D. in English is from Loyola University
Chicago, where I specialized in twentieth-century American literature and
gender studies, my ongoing research interests. Away from work, I enjoy
walking with my dog, weightlifting and reading – especially
contemporary fiction and drama, environmental philosophy, and animal rights
literature – and I’m also trying to learn how to sing.
