Welcome

Welcome to my Oakton home page. I am a professor in the Health Information Technology programs and have taught at Oakton for 23 years. I am a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and a Certified ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer.  I also hold a masters degree in adult education from National Louis University.

I have been chair of the Health Information Technology programs and have taught all the courses we offer. The area I specialize in is medical coding. My goal is to make the health information technology programs relevant to the healthcare environments that employ our students.
