You will notice several web pages associated with this unit.  That is because we will cover not only informal reports, but also several grammar/usage issues.  Also, you absolutely MUST read the "Structure" webpage because that is the informal report structure we will use.  Also, the "Sample Reports" page will give you some examples of that structure in use.

In this unit, you will learn how to:

1.  Identify the various types of  informal reports
2.  Determine and apply a specific type of report type to a situation, as appropriate
3.  Identify the differences between informal and formal reports
4.  Structure an informal report according to conventional superstructures.
5.  Design and integrate appropriate graphics for informal reports.
6.  Write an informal report to an intended audience for a designated purpose.
7.  Write an indirect purpose statement.
8.  Compose and use appropriate subject lines and subheadings for information accessibility.
9.  Apply appropriate organizational principles/logic to information design in informal reports.
10. Present information in sentences which employ effective phrases, clauses, and language.
