9/3	Liberal Feminism	Reading for discussion: Chapter 1 of Tong's Feminist Thought Journal: Discuss the development of your own views on the sex roles and the position of women. Do you believe that men and women should have equal rights and equal responsibilities in all respects?
9/8	Liberal Feminism	Special presentation by a former honors student Optional journal entry: Give your reactions to the presentation. Visit the website of the National Organization for Women and look at their position statements. Journal Entry: Consider the position that NOW has taken on the current election - particularly on the Palin nomination.

9/17	Radical Feminism	Chapter 2 of Tong's Feminist Thought.....Look through the Classic Feminist Writings on the Chicago Women's Liberation Union Herstory website, and read the articles that interest you. Be sure to Mainari's "The Politics of Housework," "The Woman-Identified Woman," "No More Miss America, " Why I Want a Wife," and "Double Jeopardy; To Be Black and Female." You may want to look through other articles on the website. Journal: React to one or more of the radical feminist articles that interest you.
