How to tell if your Oakton computer is a Dell GX270 computer scheduled for replacement in FY2008-2009

What a Dell GX270 computer looks like:

Note "GX270" is written directly under the power button. Other than this minor difference, all the Dell computers are nearly identical.

The Dell Optiplex GX620s and 745s have a very similar case. If you see either of these you are not scheduled for a replacement.

Another way to tell is to power on the computer.   In the first few seconds, you will see a "splash" screen with "Dell" written in large blue letters and then right above a white progress bar you will see "Optiplex GX150 Series".  See the text circled in red below. If it shows anything else such as  "Optiplex GX260 Series" or "Optiplex 745 Series" then your computer is not scheduled for replacement.

If your computer looks like the pictures above, it is scheduled for replacement in 2008-2009
