for Clinical- Older Adult
1.. Clinical Preparation
To prepare for this clinical experience read the following pages
in your textbook:
Kozier Chapter 23 pages 401-414 (older adult)
2. Bring the following items with you to the clinical site:
1. The textbook listed above
2. Your stethoscope
3. Pencil or pen
4. Pen light
5.Clinical
Assessment Form- Older Adult
3. Organization of the Day
Preconerence will take place from 7 to 9:00 am at the clinical agency.
See list of clinical
agencies for directions and room numbers. You will meet
with your client from 9-11:00 am. On Thursday you will perform a
physical assessment and interview. On the following Wednesday you
will implement a health promotion teaching
plan.

Assessment with a Cultural Focus
3. Organization of the Day
Preconference will take place from 8 to 9:00 am each day at the
clinical agency. See list of clinical
agencies for directions and room numbers. Your client is
part of a class that teaches English to recent immigrants. You will
meet with your client or a group of clients from a certain country in the
classroom from 9:30-10:30. You will interview your client about their
cultural health beliefs and practices. On the next scheduled day, you will
implement a health promotion teaching
plan. that is consistent with their cultural beliefs and
practices. Post conference will immediately follow your client meetings.

4. Your evaluation will be based on the behaviors in Clinical

Last Clinical Day
Your last clinical day in NUR will take
place at school. You will present your case study .

Your instructor will complete your last clincal evaluation (Miscellaneous
Evalution).
