Definition: a state in which a client in stable health is actively seeking ways to alter personal health habits and/or the environment in order to move toward a higher level of wellness. Stable health means age-appropriate, illness-prevention measures achieved; client reports good or excellent health; signs and symptoms of disease, if present , are controlled. For clients with unhealthy lifestyles, choose altered health maintenance
