Before getting started please read all instructions carefully.
1. Course Access Codeand Textbook Information– Required for accessing course materials on course website.
Required textbook The Language of Medicine online version by Davi-Ellen Chabner, 9th Edition, 2010
***Ask for help if you do not see the 9thEdition on the shelf.

If you do not have the 9th Edition of The Language of Medicine by Chabner with online access go to the Oakton bookstore and ask for The Language of Medicine online version by Davi- Ellen Chabner, 9th Edition, 2010.
2. Logging into Course Website - You have 24/7 access to the website once the class begins on Monday June 13, 2011.
*** This course requires a special access code that comes with the online version of the text. The first time you log into the site, you will be allowed to set up a
temporary
access code that expires. This will allow you time to get your textbook
while giving you the ability to look at the course on the website.
When you register for classes at Oakton you receive access to our computer system and school resources at both the
campus. This also includes an e-mail account with an assigned e-mail address.
Your User name and Password will be entered on the class Website the day your class begins. (Please note that you will not be able to access our course materials without the access code from the text). To visit the class website go to MyOakton, enter your username and password, then click on HIT 104 Medical Terminology.
Your User Name – your first initial and the first 7 letters of your last name, and the last 4 numbers of your Oakton ID B number.
Your Password – is your birthdatewithout dashes.
Example: Sally Johnson B1234567 User Name – sjohnson4567 Password - 052684 (birthdate no dashes)
3. Technology Requirements - The class is accessible from all the OCC campus computers. To access the website from outside you will need one of the following browsers:
