Persuaded
He came and sat down at my table,
And plopped down the fat roll of bills,
He said "If you vote for me,
I'm sure gonna see,
You get enough to cure all your ills."
And I was almost persuaded,
To vote for the G.O.P.,
Almost persuaded,
But instead I kept my dignity.
He got up and said in a whisper,
"I'm going to win anyway.
I've got the big buck,
And a whole lot o' luck,
And a mob that will do what I say."
And I was almost persuaded,
To vote for the G.O.P.,
But I looked in his eyes and I saw,
No traces of humanity.
