(instrumental intro)
Pop said I have to keep a diary.
I started writing about me.
Some words I've written took me by surprise,
Like "nucular" and "komprumize."
My whole life, I've been told what... to say and what
to do.
Pop said, "Don't blow it."
"You're dumb, you know it."
My dad was mad today; he yelled at me,
Last night, left out my journal entry.
I passed it off; I wasn't in the mood.
My mind was occupied by food.
Though Pop was really pissed - I promised to make good
He said, "Don't blow it."
"You're dumb, you know it."
For my next few years of life.
Have to write down all my strife.
All the neat things I can find...
Pop said I have to keep a diary
I started writing about me.
But now this makes me sick, and I don't know
Why I must write, when I can see.
This diary's for the birds; for someone else, not me.
Pop said, "Don't blow it."
I said, "Dad, stow it."
For my next few years of life,
Filling this out's for my wife.
She'll write for me - she won't mind.
She'll write for me - she won't mind.
