Textbook Info, Spring 2012 :  Read carefully.
[But you do NOT need your book on the very first day of class, so for MAT 250,  IF you are unsure what you should buy, wait until
class meets to discuss the info below with me.  If you are sure what you want, go ahead and get it.]

MAT 250:  Calculus 1:  Required Textbook:  Calculus (Early Transcendentals), by Briggs and Cochran, Volume 1.

   Addison Wesley, Boston, 2011

NOTE:  Volume 1 is a short, custom version for Oakton, for students who do NOT plan to take MAT 251 (Calc 2.)
     [
If you don't plan to take 251, but later change your mind, of course you can buy Volume 2 later, when you take 251.]
Volume 1 is on sale at Oakton Bookstore, or may be bought used from students who took the class previously.
It will probably be hard to find otherwise, since it is a custom version just for us.

If you do plan to take 251, and especially if you also plan to take 252,
then you may want to consider buying the full version of the book  (which encompasses vol.1 and vol 2.)
(Vol. 2 is used for both MAT 251 and 252.)
The full version doesn't mention any "volumes", of course, since it is the entire book all at once.
The full book, if you choose to go this route, can be purchased anywhere, including online, no doubt.

MAT 251
:  Calculus 2:  Same as above for 250, EXCEPT you should buy Volume 2 of the book (which is also used for MAT 252 as well.)
Or, if you already have the full book, then of course you are all set, and should not buy Volume 2 in addition.
