Waiting List Information for Paul Boisvert's Math Classes at Oakton Community College
 
Please Read Carefully and follow the directions below if you are not enrolled in one of my sections and would like to be put on a waiting list.
Note:  this is my own personal policy, and other teachers have different policies--do not expect their classes to work similarly.

1.  I do NOT let anyone in over the official enrollment until the first day of class, when I see how many seats there are.
     On the first day, if there are extra seats, I will let people into the section in the order in which they emailed me to be put on the waiting list.

2.  SO:  You MUST email me as soon as possible to be put on the waiting list.  The longer the list, the less chance you will get in on the first day.  My email info is back on my web page.  I will reply by email indicating that you are on the list and roughly how many people are ahead of you.  If you don't get a reply within several days, email me again--I am sometimes out of town, but do check email every few days.  
2 A)   In your email, say which specific class you want--I have several classes!

3.  There are NO guaranteed spots when you are on the waiting list, even if you are first in line--there may be no extra seats.  If you don't want to risk this, I suggest you
sign up for someone else's class.  Don't buy the book until you see if you actually get in on the first day.

4.  SO:  IMPORTANT:  even after you have emailed me to be on the waiting list, you should TRY to ENROLL EVERY DAY ONLINE IN MY COURSE, the normal way.  People drop for various reasons along the way, and if you happen to try when a spot has opened up, you will get in officially, which is the only way to be GUARANTEED a spot.

5.  If your efforts to enroll officially in step 4 have not worked by the first day of class, come to the class on the first day, and we will see who there is room for.  If you are not officially enrolled, DO NOT MISS THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS, or else YOU WILL GO TO THE END OF THE WAITING LIST!

6.  If you are officially enrolled, but then DROPPED for non-payment before classes start, you must email me immediately to get back on the waiting list.  
     BUT YOU WILL GO TO THE END OF THE WAITING LIST for this, which means you may not get in at all--so PAY UP!

7.  Do NOT PHONE me.  EMail me!

8.  If you have special circumstances (like you don't have the course prerequisite, or other issues), tell me about those in your email, and I will give you more detailed advice.
