Welcome to the home page of Trudy Bers. As Executive Director of Research, Curriculum and Planning at Oakton, I have an eclectic portfolio of responsibilities that involves me in working with faculty, staff and administrators at the College as well as with many individuals at colleges and universities, higher education organizations and professional associations throughout the country.

When I came to Oakton as a political science faculty member, I assumed I would stay here 3-5 years. Wrong! I found a professional home at Oakton, one that has afforded me numerous and continuing opportunities to take on new tasks, to be involved with many external organizations, to write and publish, to continue to learn, and to work with bright, collaborative, lively colleagues. As important, I found a personal home in the Chicago area, where my husband and I raised our children, made many friends, and took advantage of Chicago's world class theater, music, art, culinary, and intellectual scene.

On the right of this page, you'll find some links to Oakton and other websites and documents. But first, a confession. While I'm an ardent user of others' websites, I'm negligent about updating my own. So....please bear with me. You can always email or phone me, as I'm usually responsive--some say I'm even compulsive. I've even been known to respond to email from places around the world, including London, Kathmandu, and the Kalijari Desert. Thanks for checking in.
