Study Guide for Quiz # 3

1.      Remember that review questions will appear on the quiz.  At least 3 out of the 10 questions will be on earlier material.  Please review the material from the earlier study guides and earlier quizzes.

2.      In Terrorism and International Justice, articles 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 were assigned.  Please note that article 11 by Sterba was assigned and not discussed in class.  You will be expected to know the thesis and the major arguments for the thesis given by each of the authors.  You may consult your book during the exam.  (You may not have notes written in your book about Hobbes, Locke, etc.  I will check books for extra notes.)

3.      For Schweickart’s After Capitalism, you should know his major arguments against capitalism as well as the broad outlines of his proposal for economic democracy.  You should also be able to discuss his underlying ethical commitments.  In addition, you should also be able to explain his position on issues that relate to the globalization focus of the tandem.

4.      There will be extra credit questions that focus on current events.  Checking out the NYT website and watching BBC nightly news would help you with these questions.
