Philosophy 105: Writing Assignment

Look through various print media (newspapers, magazines, web sites, etc.) for groups of propositions presented as an argument (premises and a conclusion).  Find two examples of each of the following (four total), identifying the premises and conclusion in each case, and respond to the associated questions:

I.                     An inductive argument:

Why exactly is this an inductive argument?  Is this argument convincing?  What—if any—new information would make you change your opinion?

II.                   An informal fallacy:

Determine the specific fallacy committed, and explain why the reasoning is fallacious.

If you have difficulty finding examples in outside sources, you can create one yourself.
