The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is
the national professional organization for Certified Public Accountants
(CPAs) in the United
States. The AICPA supports several scholarship programs for
undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers in business
and accounting. Listed below are
descriptions of each program. Eligibility criteria and application forms are available online at:
- The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students who are currently majoring in accounting, finance, or information systems. Five scholarships are awarded annually to AICPA student affiliate members.
Application deadline: April 1, 2010.
- The AICPA John L.
Carey Scholarship program provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree
holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting and the CPA designation.
Up to ten $5,000
scholarships are awarded annually.
Application deadline: April 1, 2010.
- This scholarship program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. The program has been in existence for more than 20 years and has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships.
Application deadline: March 15, 2010.

The
Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges (TACTYC) is pleased to announce four (4) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for
use by the winners during the 2010-2011 academic year. Two scholarships will be awarded to two-year
college graduating students that are pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Accounting
at a four-year institution and two scholarships will be awarded to students
that are currently pursuing a two-year degree in Accounting.
