Hi!
Bob Taylor here. Adjunct faculty at Oakton Community
College since 1995. I started out teaching Novell Netware System
Administration classes for CNE certification and Windows MCSE certification
courses under the LAN college, now CNS.
I currently teach CIS 101 (Intro to
Computer Systems), UNIX/LINUX courses –
CIS 118 (User Intro), 218 (Advanced User), 228 (UNIX/LINUX System
Administration) and 238 (UNIX/LINUX Network Services Administration) in the
OCC UNIX/LINUX certification sequence, CIS 232 web scripting languages
Perl, PHP and Python. And a LINUX
security course as CIS 290 currently under development.
Currently a Senior Network Engineer for a
Fortune 500 company with over 30 years experience in management, computer
programming, database, systems and network administration. My classes offer an in-depth exposure to
all aspects of computer related subjects; along with odd-ball sense of
humor.
I spend my free time in my wife’s garden,
motorcycle touring, experimenting in my computer lab, harassing the family
cats (and vice-versa).
Working with the people at Oakton
Community College and those I meet in the class is a truly enlightening
experience that I hope to share with you.
