OaktArt 2019

(March 20, 2019) Oakton Community College art students will showcase their talent in painting, drawing, ceramics, digital art and photography at “OakArt 2019.” The free exhibition opens Thursday, April 4, and runs through Thursday, April 25, at the Koehnline Museum of Art, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

The public is invited to a reception on opening night from 5 to 8 p.m.

“This annual exhibition is an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their artistic achievements,” says Nathan Harpaz, the museum’s manager and curator. “Also, the exhibition reflects that Oakton’s art faculty members are active in inspiring and advancing the works of students.”

According to Oakton Chair of Art and Design Lou Pierozzi, more than 50 students will have work on display, including award-winning artists April White and Michael Murray.

Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday.
