Men's Tennis

The Oakton men’s tennis team is under the guidance of Kelly Johnson, an experienced tennis coach who honed her skills playing for the nationally competitive University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers women’s tennis program.

Johnson is dedicated to bringing a competitive attitude to the Owls tennis program. Each spring, the Owls compete against Chicago-area talent in the NJCAA Region IV and Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference.

“My goal is to prove we can always contend against the best teams in the region,” Johnson says. “I want to keep challenging Oakton’s players to have the confidence that they can defeat any opponent they face on the court.”

The men’s tennis team advanced to nationals in Johnson’s second year as head coach (2017). The Owls play home matches at Johns Park in Glenview.

Oakton opens the season on the road against Concordia University Chicago at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 21.
The championship is scheduled to take place May 15-19 at Collins College in Plano, Texas.
Men’s tennis earned its 5th win of the season by defeating Sauk Valley in Dixon, Illinois.
Head coach Kelly Johnson is ready to take the Owls to the next level in her second year at the helm.
