DEGREE PROGRAM

63 Semester Credit Hours
Curriculum: 0005

This degree is intended for students who would like 2-year degree in accounting. This is ideal for students who do not plan to transfer to a 4-year institution. The degree offers general education as well as a comprehensive accounting education. Graduates will be able to perform all the job skills of entry level accountants.

Students who plan to transfer to 4-year colleges should not follow this curriculum. The only accounting courses that will transfer are ACC 153 and ACC 154. Students who are interested in a 4-year degree in accounting should follow the suggested preparation for careers in business on page 78 of the 2006 college catalog. These students can take ACC 153 and ACC 154 at Oakton and receive credit for these courses when they transfer.
