Patricia Kimbel

Education Background:

  • Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.)

Teaching Philosophy:

My main philosophy is to encourage critical thinking in my students. While I do tend to structure course time by presenting lecture material, I strive to promote healthy discussion in class. Another philosophy is to strongly encourage my students to consider the impact of culture, ethnicity, gender, race, and socioeconomic status on individuals in our society. These factors can have a tremendous impact on individuals andis integral to understanding the problems which clients present. Ithoroughly enjoy teaching and find it very rewarding. I find that I amconstantly learning from my students which creates a valuable exchange.
