The Facilities Management and Engineering curriculum prepares students
for employment in the management and engineering of small to large
facilities. A variety of career opportunities exist in this area
for competent, well-trained employees. The emphasis of the curriculum
is on basic principles, making it possible for graduates to begin
and progress rapidly in their careers. The program also provide
opportunities to work as an intern at local companies.
Professionals already working in the field may enroll in the Facilities
Management and Engineering Programs to upgrade their knowledge in
a variety of subjects. Course work that includes both technical
and general education subjects can lead to the Associate in Applied
Science Degree. For professionals whose careers require primarily
technical skills, Oakton offers two certificates: the Facilities
Management Certificate and the Facilities Engineering Certificate.
