Associate in Applied Science Degree
**This is a limited enrollment program**
This 61 credit program combines academic, technical and clinical experiences that prepares graduates to be a member of the healthcare team specializing in the field of Health Information Technology. All coding certificate courses are incoporated into this degree program. Upon successful completion of the program students may take the national accreditation exam and on passing, may add the initials RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) after their name. Growing career opportunities offer exciting and rewarding possibilities. This program prepares students to work in a hospital-based facility but anywhere health information is used is a job opportunity for an RHIT.

Medical Coding Certificate
**This is a limited enrollment program**
This 27 credit program prepares students for detailed medical coding using ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems. This program prepares students to work in hospital based facilities but there are also job opportunities in physicians' offices and insurance companies. This curriculum follows AHIMA's curriculum recommendations for the CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certification exam. All courses can be applied to the Associate Degree program.
It is offered during the day at Des Plaines and the evening at Skokie

Medical Billing Certificate evening program.
This 11 credit program prepares students for billing positions using ICD-9-CM and CPT coding. This program is physician office based and job opportunities are available in physician offices and billing offices. This curriculum follows the AHIMA curriculum recommendations for the CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based) certification exam.

Medical Office Management Certificate evening program.
This 26 credit program prepares students to provide supervisory direction in the medical office setting. All medical billing certificate courses are included in this program. This program prepares students to work in physcian based facilities.

Medical Transcription Certificate evening program Des Plaines only.
This 15 credit program prepares students to transcribe medical information with job opportunities in a variety of hospital departments as well as physicians' offices and transcription services.
