Taking the Mystery out of MyMathLab

 

 

Registering for MyMathLab

 

1.      Go to www.coursecompass.com using Internet Explorer 6.0.

2.      In the box marked Instructors, click on the Register button.

3.      Click on “No, I am a New User” if it is not already selected.

4.      Enter your access code from the provided packet.

5.      Enter the zip code of the college (60016) and the country.

6.      Hit the Next button.

7.       Follow the prompts online to complete the process.

 

Copying a course: You need to copy one of the courses below to use it with your class.

 

1.      Log on to course compass.

2.      Click on   Create or Copy a Course .

3.      Choose the option that says copy an existing course.

4.      Enter the ID of the course you are copying from the list below:

Entering faculty contact information

 

1.      Click on Control Panel.

2.      Under Course Tools, click on Staff Information.

3.      Click on Profile and enter any information you wish to provide for your students. If you have a homepage you can enter the URL for it in Personal Link under Options.

4.      Click on Submit.

 

Viewing student quiz results

 

1.      Go to Control Panel

2.      Click on Gradebook under the MyMathLab heading

3.      Click on quizzes under Gradebook Views in the first column.

4.      Use the right arrow buttons to get to the desired section number.


 

Viewing student study plan results

 

1.      Go to Control Panel

2.      Click on Gradebook under the MyMathLab heading

3.      Click on Study Plan under Gradebook Views.

4.      Click on Chapters.

5.      Choose desired chapter from dropdown menu. The pertinent information is listed in the column entitled “Needs Study”. The “total” in this column gives the number of problems the students was assigned for this chapter. The “number correct” is the number the student got correct in the problems they were assigned.

6.      To view the student’s study plan results for specific sections, click on the name of the student.

 

Obtaining handouts for students

 

You can find copies of handouts for students on Share as follows:

1.      Log on to an Oakton on-campus computer.

2.      Open MS WORD and click on file then choose open.

3.      Choose share on ‘Oak1-share-svr’

4.      Double click on OCCSHARE

5.      Go to the shapero-murphy folder.

6.      Click on Studentmathlab reg

7.      When the document opens, enter your MyMathLab course number in the highlighted area in step 6.
