Welcome to the OCC RFID (RFD) Portal!

The goal of Oakton's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Program is to prepare students for RFID opportunities in the workplace. The lab will provide students with hands-on experiences working directly with software, tags, readers, and infrastructure. Students will learn the technology and be able to communicate the business value of an RFID implementation.

Oakton's equipment to support its RFID portal is located at the door that separates the CNC Lab (P130) from the Manufacturing Lab (P132) at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus in Skokie, IL. The portal is designed to emulate a factory portal where workers move tagged boxes or pallets through the passageway allowing inventory processing to occur automatically.

Curricula paths will prepare students for managerial and technical positions within the transportation, warehousing and logistics industry.
