The meeting convened at 5:30 pm.
1. Welcome and Introduction of Advisory Members
Members present: Dave Geller, Majid Ghadiri, Tim Hoffman, Bill Hood, John Poplawski, Richard Schell, Bob Sompolski, Jennifer Strehler.
2. Review of the Transportation, Warehousing and Logistics Certificate
The Committee reviewed the College Curriculum Committee approved TWL
certificate that was developed for the Federal Stimulus program of the College and the workNet Center. The
certificate was approved.
3. Grant opportunity
The committee discussed an NSF ATE proposal focusing on Logistics that the College had been invited to participate in with Riverside CC of Los Angeles, CA and Sinclair CC of Dayton, OH. The proposal was submitted to the NSF on October 15 with results expected to be available in early 2010.
4. RFD 103 enrollment
The committee explored options to increase enrollments in RFD 103 that included scheduling options, online delivery and laboratory reconstruction. Further discussion will be necessary to finalize a strategy.
5. Illinois Community College Trustees Association Award
Stratum Global was presented with a medal that honored their nomination for the annual ICCTA Business/Industry Partnership Award. The award had been presented at a luncheon on June 5, 2009 in Chicago.The meeting adjourned by 7:15 pm.
