WIA* Certified Programs *Workforce Investment Act |
|
| Part of the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) federal legislation provides funding for individuals to retrain for a new occupation. If an individual is eligible for WIA retraining money, they are awarded an Individual Training Account (ITA). ITAs can be used only at approved schools for WIA certified programs. Oakton Community College is an approved training provider, with over 60 WIA certified programs. To learn if you are eligible for a WIA Individual Training Account, you need to attend an orientation at the Illinois workNet Center in Evanston or Arlington Heights. You must register in advance for an orientation. These programs are part of Oakton's regular catalog. They are not specifically designed for WIA participants. Most of the students who enroll will not be using an individual training account. |
