Architectural Technology
Majoring in architecture technology at Oakton can lead to jobs in an architectural, engineering, or contracting office. Our challenging curriculum enables students to focus either on computer-aided design or architectural technology.
Besides leading to an associate in applied science degree, the program prepares students for positions in building materials, equipment sales, specification writing, and assistant construction field representatives. Those interested in a career in the building or construction industry where an A.A.S. degree in architectural technology is not necessary may instead earn a certificate. In addition, students attracted to computer-aided design work who already have architectural training or office experience, can earn a certificate in architectural CAD.
If you have any questions about the program, contact Martin Bruner, chair, at 847.376.7740 or mbruner@oakton.edu.
