About Online Courses
Oakton Community College offers a variety of classes delivered through the internet. While the majority of class time is spent on the Web, most will require additional materials such as textbooks and/or video media. These credit courses can usually be adapted to the student's schedule and availability.
Oakton uses multiple platforms to support online courses. Your course may use WebCT, Desire2Learn, Pearson's MyLabPlus, or other course specific software.
To access your Online course:
Click on "MyOakton" from Oakton's home page, www.oakton.edu, and follow the login instructions. Then click on the "My courses" tab, then on the "My Courses" channel. You should see all your courses listed here. When you click on your online course, you will be linked directly to the course homepage, or to course information your instructor has provided.
Oakton also offers other distance learning options such as Media Based Courses and Interactive Television courses.
Inquiries about full-online/distance learning courses should be directed to the Alternative Education office. Students in face-to-face classes that are being enhanced with online materials should refer any questions to their instructors.
