Information

The Office of Student Financial Assistance administers a wide array of financial assistance programs available from several sources. The information here will help you understand the different programs and financing options available at Oakton and guide you in the application process.

Financial assistance is available in the form of grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. Assistance may be need-based or non-need based.

  • Grants and scholarships are considered a gift and do not have to be repaid. Scholarships are funded through Oakton or private sources.
  • Work-study is on-campus employment.
  • Loans are monies that have to be repaid in the future.

Most applicants for financial assistance must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarships require a separate application. Oakton's Office of Student Financial Assistance also processes a variety of veterans benefits, including the GI Bill.

Additional information is available in the Oakton Community College Catalog. This information is subject to change based on any federal and state funding or regulatory changes.
