| Dear Prospective International Student, Welcome to the site for Oakton's International Students. From its origins some 30 years ago, Oakton has educated thousands of students from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds in college transfer programs and career preparation. Oakton enjoys a diverse student population of 10,000 students with approximately 150 international students. Information provided on these pages will help you complete your international student application to Oakton Community College. I-20 Information Sessions are offered before each semester to answer your questions and to explain further the I-20 application process. Please note the deadlines for admission and plan to attend an information session. Oakton does not offer a full-time English as a Second Language program for international students. To help ensure success at Oakton we require that prior to admission, international students demonstrate English language proficiency with a minimum TOEFL score of 190 on the computerized exam, 520 on the written exam, or 68 on the new TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT). International student advisors are available at both Oakton campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie. If you are not seeking an I-20, please follow the standard application guidelines.
