Application
Procedures
Your admission application will be reviewed only after the
application fee and all required documents and credentials have
been received. Contact or make an appointment with the Office
of Admission to obtain your I-20 once your application file is
complete. If your educational records are under a different name,
please provide this information on the application. If you are
approved for admission, you will receive an acceptance letter
with instructions and the official I-20 documents needed to obtain
a visa to the United States. The I-20 document shows immigration
services that you have met the Colleges requirement for
admission and have sufficient academic skills and funds to be
a successful international student. The U.S. Embassy makes the
final decision on issuing an F-1 visa.
When
you arrive at Oakton, contact the admission specialist, Bunny
Lynn (Room 1530, Des Plaines) or Judy
Bloink
(Room A100, Skokie), who will help
you with the initial registration process and refer you to a counselor
for academic advisement. Workshops and international student orientation
are offered once each semester.
