Proof of district residency is required by Thursday, June 12, for summer semester and by noon on Saturday, August 30, for fall semester. Employees of in-district companies who live out of District 535 must meet certain criteria to qualify for the Business Service Agreement tuition rate. Please contact the Office of Registration and Records at 847.635.1700.

Chargebacks and Joint Agreements. Oakton students who are seeking a degree/certificate not available at the College may be eligible for a chargeback or joint agreement to attend another community college in Illinois that offers that curriculum. Specific rules apply. Application is required 30 days prior to the start of a term. If you register Mon., March 24 through Wed., April 16, payment is due by Tue., April 29.
If you register Thu., April 17 through Wed., April 30, payment is due by Tue., May 13.
If you register Thu., May 1 through Wed., May 14, payment is due by Wed., May 21.
If you register Thu., May 15 through Wed., May 21, payment is due by Wed., May 28.
If you register on or after Thu., May 22, payment is due the next business day.

Fall 2008 Semester
If you register Mon., April 7 through Sun., July 27, payment is due by Tue., August 5.
If you register Mon., July 28 through Wed., August 6, payment is due by Tue., August 12.
If you register Thu., August 7 through Tue., August 19, payment is due by Wed., August 20.
If you register on or after Wed., August 20, payment is due the next business day.

Credit Card Payment: Oakton accepts bank credit cards (Mastercard, VISA, Discover) in person or through Web Registration payments.

Deferred Tuition Payment Plan: To help students meet their educational expenses, Oakton Community College offers a deferred tuition plan administered by FACTS Tuition Management. This is not a loan; there is no credit check, no interest or finance charges and no debt. The cost for this convenient budget plan is a nonrefundable fee of $25 per semester.

Tuition and fees will be budgeted in the following ways:

  • Automated bank payment (ACH) Funds are automatically transferred from either your checking or savings account.
  • Credit Card option: Payment is made by credit card

Non-Payment: Students who do not pay tuition and fees by the deadline may be dropped from all of their courses.

Personal checks submitted for any fees will have your student I.D. number written on them. If you prefer not to have your I.D. number on your check, please submit your payment by cashier’s check, money order or when appropriate (other than “mail-in” or “drop-off” registrations) cash. College staff will write student I.D. numbers on checks where a student has not done so already.

REFUNDS

Students who withdraw from any or all of their classes may be eligible for a refund according to the Refund Schedule below.

Refunds for Administrative Withdrawal: If Oakton cancels a course, students enrolled in it at that time will receive a full refund for the class.

Refund Schedule
Refunds are given only when a student officially withdraws from a class by the refund date. Refund dates are based on the starting date of the semester. If the class begins later than the first week of the semester, refund dates are based on the starting date of the class. Refund checks are mailed after classes begin. If you paid by credit card, your credit card will be credited with your refund.
