International Agencies and Organizations
European Union, gateway to the European Union, including what
the EU does by subject, its institutions, documents, and services.
The International Labour Organization is the global
body responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards.
Working with its Member States, the ILO seeks to ensure that
labour standards are respected in practice as well as principle.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM),
established in 1951, is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field

North Atlantic Treaty
Organization (NATO), an alliance of 26 countries from North America and

The Organization of the
Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) coordinates the petroleum policies of
Member Countries. Additionally, its mission is to ensure the stabilization of
oil markets.
Understanding Children's Work is an inter-agency
research cooperation project on child labour. The International Labour
Organisation (ILO), UNICEF and the World
Bank initiated UCW in December 2000.
United Nations,
promoting international cooperation, respect for human rights, protection of the
environment, improved healthcare, and poverty reduction.

International Documents Libraries
Northwestern University's International Documents Library The collection contains the publications of approximately 25 intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), a few non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and supporting materials from private publishers. The collection spans the WWI era to the present. The Library has been a depository library of the United Nations since 1946, the European Union since 1970, and became a depository library of the World Tourism Organization in 2002.
