Faculty


MEN’S DAY OAKTON FACULTY

Gregory Baldauf, Ph.D., is the founder and co-chair for Men’s Day and the Oakton Men’s Program.

Paul Johnson, M.S.Ed., is the co-chair for Men’s Day and the Oakton Men’s Program.

Michael Maloney, Ph.D., has been a counselor and psychology professor at Oakton since 1972. He has a private counseling practice in Skokie, Illinois.


MEN’S DAY GUEST FACULTY

Irwin Aloff, M.Ed., is an educator counselor and group facilitator. He has been an active member of the New Warrior Community since 1987.

Tony Alvarado-Rivera is a multi-issue community organizer working within an anti-oppression framework. He currently serves as coordinator of the Howard Brown Mentor Program for LGBTQ youth and adults.

Phillip A. Beverly is an associate professor of political science at Chicago State University.

Timothy L. Clark, LCSW/CADC, is a practicing psychotherapist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He specializes in working with men and adolescent boys.

John Everingham, Ph.D., is co-editor and chapter author of the anthology, Men Healing Shame, and its revised edition, Breaking the Shackles (2005). He is active in the ManKind Project, Victories of the Heart, and the Oakton Men’s Program.

John L. Farrell, Ph.D., is a psychologist located in Chicago’s south suburbs. He has been doing men’s work for 10 years.

David Fischer is an activist who has worked in anti-oppression communities since he was 15 years old. He has worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as high school students with disabilities. He also has coordinated a leadership program and a safer sex peer-education program for LGBTQ youth.

Tim Goldich, B.A., is the author of Loving Men, Respecting Women: The Future of Sexual Politics, and other books on gender issues. He is a graduate of Albion College.

Jim Healy, Ph.D., is the director of the Joliet Diocesan Center for Family Ministry, a position he has held since 1989. He is a popular national speaker whose marriage resources (found at www.rootedinlove.org) are used throughout the country.

Tom Horne, A.A.S., is a business and executive coach who focuses on the dynamics of family businesses. He has successfully developed markets in the U.S, Europe, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Guam, and Saudi Arabia for his family’s candy company.

Steve Jaffe is a 21-year veteran of the ManKind Project (New Warriors).

Kenneth Kikuchi, Psy.D., is a faculty member at the College of Lake County and a former instructor at Oakton Community College.

Joe Kilikevice, MFA, is the founding director of the Shem Center for Interfaith Spirituality in Oak Park, Illinois. He has guided Male Spirit and other experiential interfaith retreats nationally and internationally since 1980.

Alan Levin, JD, is an attorney and partner with the firm of Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd. He is a Wisdom Years Weekend retreat leader and serves on several boards, including Victories of the Heart.

John Lionberger, MSF, MDiv, has been very happily married for 32 years. He and his wife have two children.

Phil Metres, Ph.D., is a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam and specializes in working with other returning veterans. He has been in private practice as a clinical psychologist and body psychotherapist for more than 30 years. He also co-facilitates Wisdom Years Weekends as a volunteer for Victories of the Heart.

Paul B. Pendler is a clinical psychologist in private practice and on the faculty of the Northwestern University Medical School.

Derek Randel, M.Ed., M.A., is a parent coach who speaks nationally on issues of domestic, bullying, and school violence. Randel also is a certified step-family coach through the Step-Family Foundation, New York.

Eric Rogers, Ph.D., is a psychologist, professor, and consultant on diversity and race/ethnic relations. He is the author of Race, Education and the Continuing American Dilemma and Conversations on Race: America at the Crossroads of Race Relations.

George Rounds, B.A., is a “recovering CEO” and professional personal coach who also is a father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is a certified leader for the New Warrior Training Adventure.

Rick Simon, M.A., is executive director of Victories of the Heart, a personal growth organization for men, and a master’s degree candidate at DePaul University.

Kenn Skorupa, M.Ed., is a DePaul University administrator and faculty member who teaches the course, Male Identity in Transition. He has a master’s degree in education with a focus on counseling, and has lectured on men’s topics for more than a decade.

Robert Skrocki, MSW, is a board member of the Questioning Youth Center in Naperville, Illinois, and vice chair of the Parent Diversity Advisory Council of Indian Prairie School District.

Darryl Stallings began practicing spiritual principles in 1991, resulting in a life he never could have imagined.

Steve Wallman, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Chicago and Evanston, Illinois. After working in corporate America for 25 years, Wallman earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago in 1994 and a post-graduate certificate from the Chicago Center for Family Health in 1999.
